Jeffrey Gallant publishes second edition of the Diving Almanac

Jeffrey Gallant released the second edition of the world's first and only almanac for divers at the 2007 DEMA Show in Orlando. The 2008 edition of the Diving Almanac & Yearbook includes 150 new personalities (Total 500), 100 new records (Total 350), and several new features, including the DAY Blue Pages: dive information – by country – followed by a dive directory of dive resorts, liveaboards, charters and dive centres from around the world. The Diving Chronicle (The Year in Review) is 100 pages long and now makes up nearly 20% of the book. There is also a new colour section on underwater artists featuring such renowned painters as Pascal Lecocq (France), Randall Scott (USA) and Carlos Hiller (Costa Rica). All of the original contributors from the 2007 edition - including DAN (Divers Alert Network) - are back and several high-profile players of the diving industry such as the Historical Diving Society and SDI / TDI International, have made significant contributions to DAY 2008. New contributors and new sections have added 150 pages to the 2008 edition. If the 2007 reviews are any indication, the Diving Almanac & Yearbook 2008 promises to be a must-have book for every diver.

The Diving Almanac & Yearbook also includes a section on diving with sharks by the late R. Aidan Martin.

According to Undercurrent Magazine, Gallant's Diving Almanac & Yearbook is "Perhaps the best reference book ever published for divers... Essential for any serious diver's library."
